I’ve been teaching and subbing in various school districts since graduating with a degree in Art Education in 2002. I have experience teaching most middle school and high school subjects, including Art 1-2, Drawing and Painting, Ceramics, Printmaking, and Digital Photography. I also held positions that included classes I had never taught before, such as AP Studio Art and Yearbook Advisor. Both classes were challenges, and I spent many hours learning new things. I feel both were a success, and I was able to put “new tools into my tool belt.”

I really enjoy being a part of the school community and think staff involvement in school activities helps make real connections with the students. I have headed social committees, volunteered for ASB events, chaperoned dances, sponsored clubs and coached lacrosse. Coaching (and playing) lacrosse was also something new for me, but again, I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and would love another opportunity to coach. I have a background in tennis as well.

I have worked very hard to become a teacher, and I really love what I do… but as a young art teacher, I have yet to stay in one place for too long. I am still looking for that place to call home… I know I’ll find it someday.
