Hi there! My name is Amber Martin. I have Midwest roots and a California soul. I like things simple. I often think with my heart instead of my mind. I’m working on that balance. I enjoy photography, watercolors and pottery. I like playing with my dog (and my husband), surfing, yoga and music. I am also an art teacher. Are you hiring?

What a year I've had! A new job has led to new inspiration, and I couldn't be more excited! I have been working at a continuation high school in San Diego, and have met more natural artists at this small school than all of my other "regular" schools combined. It has been very challenging, but also very rewarding.

A lot of my new students are graffiti artists, and I've picked up some new skills. Learning to use spray paint has been fascinating and I am in love with it. I haven't felt this inspired in a long time, and I have my students to thank. One student in particular, Ricardo (seen in the photos at right) has really opened my eyes and continues to inspire me every day. Between his own artwork and his words of encouragement, I am in a very happy place. Thank you, Ricardo! You changed my life!

On another student inspired note, I have been working closely with a hip little lady, Audrey, for a couple of years now and we have had some amazing adventures together, including the graffiti escapades. You will probably see her several times in various albums, because she has become such a big part of my life. Not only is she an outstanding young artist, she is also a budding photographer. She has the gear, and she has the style. Audrey is available as a student second shooter (parents/schedule permitting, of course), and is literally a steal for the price vs product.
